A word to the wise gentlemen...Do not tell your significant other/fiancee/wife that you've spent time researching the lives of "sex workers" (i.e. prostitutes). It's just not the best idea, even if you are claiming a strictly academcially-ethnographic-platonic approach. Better yet, how about you just don't do it at all?

P.S. And claiming to share the love of Jesus is also a really lame excuse to use for such "research." :)

...people are going to study sex workers. They have done so for at least 400 years in the West, and probably much, much longer.
Moreover, I don't see anything necessarily wrong with it. I myself have read up on the lives of a few male sex workers for grins and giggles (and possible career paths following my religion MA...joking. Maybe.)
I can do so because I'm single and will be so for the foreseeable future. Not a good excuse, I know, but in all likelihood I'm probably not going to end up dating anyone who reads this. :)
But this...with you...words fail me completely. Why would any guy in his right mind tell his intended about this? It's...even given that it's Mike, it's...

He should have interviewed me, I worked retail for a while and the effects of that impact one's life in similar ways.
