Name suggestions anyone?
I know I may be alienating my male readers...sorry.
I am impatient.
I don't like thinking that I'm going to have to wait 6 more months to meet my baby. Being pregnant brings a whole new meaning to phrases like:
a pregnant pause...
pregnant with anticipation...
the pregnant silence...
It's a strange and novel feeling to be literally filled and expanding with new life. The Lord certainly has a way of depositing himself--everywhere and in everything. Just as I felt privileged to be a bride reflecting an image of the Lord's church, I feel privileged to be able to reflect an image of the Lord's expansive life. It's not always fun or comfortable, but it is probably one of the most amazing things that will ever happen to me.
So that brings me back to being impatient. Who's growing in there?!
This reminds me, we're having a hard time coming up with names. Any suggestions? (We like kind of quirky names)

I've always found Uzzensherah, Tiglath-Pileser, Succoth-Benoth, Ammishaddai, Chushan-rishathaim and Maher-shalal-hash-baz to be wonderful children's names.

We are in the same boat as far as coming up with names. We are STUCK. (yep, I'm preggo too...ack! #5!!)

They're not bad names, just...underappreciated. Who wouldn't want a kid whose name invoked "the people of the Almighty" (Ammishaddai) or "the tents of daughters/prostitutes" (Succoth-Benoth)? And what would the kids on the playground think if your kid was sporting the name of one of the greatest general-kings in history? You can call him Tigger for short!
...eh, I've never understood why parents want to name their kids either what's in the Top 20 for a given year or something so idiosyncratic that you know they're placing some kind of ambition on the kid. History is your friend here. Recall your proud legacies. Give hir a name that connects hem to the past and invites a new vision of the future.

I said we like quirky names, not "names that will get my kid tortured on the playground" names.

Fine, fine, what about Alexander or Darius for a guy? Perhaps even Napoleon or Otto, or Julius (or Gaius) or Hadrian? Pray even Ptolemy? Sherman? Wellington? Attila? What'll spare a kid from getting beaten up, and when's the line crossed?
For a girl...Keilah, Rivka, Blodwen, Guinevere (though considering it means "white-cheeked," choose it with caution), Huldad, Berenice/Veronica, or Sarai.
I always liked the name Micah for a boy or a girl. ;)
"Micah" works. It's classic. Gender-neutral (though you might like the sound of Micaiah more for a girl). Pious ("Who is like Yah?"). And pure sexiness.
